WAYS TO USE LUBRICANT DURING SEX

Hopefully you know by now that lube is a top contender for your sex life’s MVP. Not only is it great for extra wetness when you’re going solo, but nearly 50 percent of men and women who have used lube in bed say that it makes it easier to have an orgasm. Once you’ve got the basics down, amp up your lube game with these sexy ideas that aren’t just squeezing a few drops before getting it on.

1. Explore Each Other’s Bodies
Before you even think about stimulating the P and V, use lube to massage your partner—and have him massage you. Be exploratory, inquisitive and curious about each other’s bodies. There’s so much to touch and massage, like backs, nipples, shoulders, even small erogenous zones like your earlobes, that you can drive each other crazy before sex even starts.

2. Bring It Into The Shower
You might think that lube would be unnecessary in the shower or bath, but water can actually whisk away your natural moisture. Bringing in water-friendly silicone-based lubes will ensure you and your partner have a sexy, slippery time.

3. Use Flavored Lube During Oral
Lube reduces unpleasant friction during oral and intensifies a sexual experience using taste and smell, says Kerner, but the biggest perk is for the giver. Pick a flavor that you like, slather it on your guy, and lick him like a—well, we’ll skip the dessert metaphors, but we promise you’ll savor the experience and he’ll love watching. Next, put a few drops on your clitoris and have him return the favor.

4. Tease With Cooling Lubricant
Dot your nipples, lips, behind your ears, and other sensitive areas all over your bodies with cooling lubricant—then tease each other by blowing chilly paths across each.

5. Take the Basic Handjob To the Next Level
You may have retired the handjob from your sexual repertoire, but with the aid of lube, you might just want to whip it out again. Start by massaging his thighs and pelvis, then work your way to the head and underside of his penis. Since the shaft of the penis is most sensitive to pressure and grip, whereas the head responds to friction, use lube to aid in both sensations. “Take your thumb and forefinger into a ring and glide it quickly across the head of the penis,” says Kerner. Then, for the shaft, massage it using two hands almost like you’re rolling dough, he says.

6. Ease Into Anal Play
If either of you are curious about anal play, whether light touching or full penetration, lube is the perfect (and necessary) exploratory tool. Kerner recommends starting with a broader massage of the buttocks and going slow from the outer edges to the perineum and outside of the anus to test out the sensations before going further. If you’re both enjoying yourselves, add more lube before any penetration.
